Prof. Nicholas Higham
Nicholas Higham is Richardson Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Manchester. His research is in numerical linear algebra and ranges from theory to the development of algorithms and software, with a focus on accuracy and stability.
His book Functions of Matrices: Theory and Computation (SIAM, 2008) was the first research monograph on matrix functions and he is editor of the Princeton Companion to Applied Mathematics (2015).
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, a SIAM Fellow, and a Member of Academia Europaea.
