Margaret H. Wright

Margaret H. Wright is Silver Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. She received her B.S. in mathematics and M.S and Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University. She has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Sciences. She is a Fellow of SIAM, the American Mathematical Society (AMS), and the Institute of Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). She served as SIAM’s first woman President in 1995-1996. She is the 5th woman to receive the prestigious John von Neumann Prize. (Learn more.)
