Arun S. Moorthy
Dr. Moorthy is a Mathematical Statistician at the (US) National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). After undergraduate training in Chemical and Biological Engineering at McMaster University, he earned a PhD in Biophysics through the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Guelph. His thesis work involved modeling and simulation of anaerobic digestion in the human colon and resulted in the release of the “compuGUT” software package. Following a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Food Sciences at the University of Guelph, where he developed several software tools for analysis of physical properties of edible fats, he accepted the Director’s Postdoctoral Fellowship at NIST where he improves compound identification using mass spectral library searching.
